Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, the American and British sitarist. She was the first and the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons Shield she's received 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and serve as a presenter at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was the Indian young sitar singer. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the first few years of her life moving between London and New Delhi. As a teenager, her first show in New Delhi took place. Then she moved into Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just a teenager, has had a successful performing and recording career. Her father was with her on numerous occasions for many years. She made Anourag her first solo album in 1998. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Because she has performed on many of the biggest stages around across the globe, she's career on stage is extensive. The career of Anoushka doesn't only involve the world of music. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she was a part on Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka is continuing to advance on her path and there will be many new things that will be coming from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shakar, born in England was a major part of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she graduated from the high school. Anoushka started her music studies when she was nine. After four years she performed her music debut with the sitar Delhi for her father's 70th birthday celebration. The father of Anoushka travelled the globe with her, and she also gained a variety of experiences. While still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. As a tribute to her status as a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
